GENERAL
INFORMATION

Production Type
All labels produced by Heartland Labels are printed using flexographic processes.

Materials
We can supply nearly any label material available in roll form. The majority of our products use pressure-sensitive paper or tag stock. We also offer pressure-sensitive foils, vinyl, synthetics, Mylar, films, tags, and other specialty options.

Important Note: To maintain the highest industry standards and consistent quality, we exclusively use materials from well-known major suppliers. We do not source from secondary converters.

Delivery / Lead Times
Standard lead time is 2–3 weeks, depending on job size and complexity. With over 2,000 dies in various sizes in-house, we can often deliver most jobs in 2 weeks or less if we have a matching (or very close) die size on hand.

Special Services
While high-quality pressure-sensitive materials are available from many sources, standard paper constructions often fall short for demanding applications. Heartland has partnered with a specialized coater to offer custom coatings and patterned adhesives, allowing us to engineer materials tailored to your exact requirements and end-use conditions.

One-Time Charges
New printed orders typically include a one-time charge (for plates, setup, etc.) unless the design is "flooded" (full coverage that reuses existing tooling—see artwork guidelines on the next page for details).

Special press tooling—such as custom cutting dies—is charged at our actual cost. We do not profit on tooling, and we cover ongoing maintenance/storage of all dies purchased. You pay only the initial die cost.

Artwork
Artwork must be approved on every order that involves color printing, with the exception of fully flooded (solid coverage) items. Each color printed—except for flood coats—requires a dedicated plate. Designs containing images or process work (CMYK/halftones) are considered process printing and require more detailed/plate setups to achieve the desired result. Artwork/plate costs vary depending on the number and type of plates needed for your specific label. Please consult our sales team to determine what applies to your job.

We treat your quoted price as a firm, sacred number. Any additional costs needed to produce your product (due to artwork adjustments, file issues, etc.) will be treated as a one-time charge. The complexity, quality, and format of the artwork you provide will directly affect the time required for any modifications or prepress work.

Artwork Submission Guidelines
Please send artwork in one of the following formats:

  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI) file

  • PDF (high-resolution, preferably press-ready)

  • Physical sample (for reference or matching)

Warranty

Heartland Labels, Inc. stands 100% behind our products. We guarantee that the printing quality and materials used will meet or exceed manufacturer specifications. However, there are specific instances where we cannot accept responsibility:

  • A. Damages or claims exceeding the cost of replacing the product itself.

  • B. Misuse of the product by the customer.

  • C. Failure or issues caused by secondary mechanical functions (e.g., label applicators, burst testers, etc.).

  • D. Lack of full disclosure regarding the product's intended end-use application prior to production.

Important Note on End-Use Information
Accurate end-use information is critical. It is imperative that customers provide as much detail as possible about how and where the label will be applied.

  • Permanent adhesive is not permanent everywhere—some surfaces simply cannot accept permanent bonding.

  • Removable adhesive is not removable everywhere—certain materials or conditions prevent clean removal.

We will work closely with you to recommend and match the proper materials to your specific application. In some cases, customer-conducted testing is the only way to confirm performance. If we are not fully informed about the label's intended use and environment, we cannot be held responsible for end-use satisfaction or performance.

Last but by no means least

Every individual at Heartland Labels shares one key trait: honesty. We believe in open, straightforward communication at every step. We rely on you to trust us as much as we trust our products to perform. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships based on quality products, exceptional service, and genuine integrity.

Thank you for your consideration and for helping us continue our legacy. We look forward to partnering with you in the future.
